Bid Coordinator

We are a growing multidisciplinary practice with 4 offices across the South of England. Due to our continued success we are looking to appoint a motivated Bid Coordinator to lead on all Bid activity. The successful candidate should have strong administrative and organisational skills.

Job Summary

Working with the Senior Team and contributing to the Practice’s marketing and business development strategy. This includes identifying prospects, monitoring lead generation, applying strategic objectives for special market sectors, researching industry data, formulating company-wide participation in professional, business and community associations, and working closely with Partners & Senior Management Team to agree and implement business development responsibilities. Manage and update associated resources, materials and databases in order to assist with the provision of high quality consistent submissions.

Key Duties

  • Monitor tender portal announcements and other sources of tender information / opportunities, filter potentially viable opportunities and review with a Partner to agree which to pursue and how to resource the bid. Add to bid tracker and update progress.
  • Actively manage the production of PQQ, tender and other fee bids, setting clear time and content targets for specific individuals and motivating them to deliver on time and to high quality. Co-ordinate the final issue of all bid documents to ensure high quality corporate image / branding is achieved consistently.
  • Manage, coordinate and maintain up to date CVs database for all staff.
  • To undertake bid coordination duties across all of the Bailey Partnership offices
  • Submission database management;
  • Work closely with the Partner responsible for marketing and digital media and to supervise content and dissemination of public relation statements, press releases and company’s overall marketing materials in both print and digital media.  Ensure that Practice website is kept current to reflect our evolving image and includes relevant project news, marketing results, awards and competitions.
  • Update, improve and generate a range of marketing material for all aspects of Bailey Partnership service.
  • Attendance at key networking events and management of in-house events

As a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer you will be technically competent and will take a key role in setting and maintaining high standards within our Mechanical Engineering team and will be responsible for mentoring junior members of staff across the practice. You will need strong leadership qualities and you must be able to manage resources, potentially across a multi-disciplinary team, in order to meet numerous project deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified and considered an expert in their field. You will ideally be a chartered member of CIBSE or the IMechE and will need to have at least 5 years post qualified experience. You must also hold a full UK drivers licence.

You must be a dedicated, hard working and self motivated individual with a proactive approach to work and business development. You must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a high degree of experience in the use of Microsoft office, AutoCAD, IES, Hevacomp / Cymap and ideally have experience in using Revit.

Key Duties

  • Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems – heating, cooling, gas, ventilation, controls, etc.
  • Production of detailed calculations using industry standard digital tools inc. Excel, IES, Hevacomp/Cymap, in-house developed tools, etc.
  • Report and specification writing
  • Preparing drawings for drafting by others in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Production of technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD
  • Representation at meetings with clients and contractors
  • liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders, architects and surveyors and in-house project teams
  • Site surveys and inspections
  • Adherence to all quality, environmental & governance processes
  • Reviewing and reporting progress to the project Associate / Director
  • Advise clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, with the aim of minimising the site’s environmental impact and reducing its carbon footprint
  • Lead Engineer for various commissions with project and resource management responsibility
  • Build and develop relationships with existing and new Clients
  • To develop and mentor the Building Services Engineering team to ensure that each member is reaching their full potential.

Your role as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will require you to work closely with Senior Engineers, Associates and Directors to produce a high standard of design for mechanical services such as ventilation, water services, gas distribution, heating and cooling.

You will be tasked with mechanical building services designs, production of drawings, use of the latest computer modelling and calculation software, site surveys, report writing, attendance at meetings etc.

What are we looking for?

The Role

Your role as an Electrical Engineer will require you to work closely with Senior Engineers and Associates to produce a high standard of design for electrical services such as LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire and security etc. using a range of software including Prodesign (Amtech), Dialux, AutoCAD and Revit.

You will need good written and verbal communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with Clients and Contractors. You will undertake your own design work which will include report and specification writing and the production of 2D drawings and 3D models.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will hold qualifications relevant to engineering (degree preferred) with hands-on design experience. They will have or will be working towards membership status with the IET and must hold a full UK drivers licence.

You will need an understanding of relevant design standards such as British Standards, CIBSE and BSRIA design guides.
