Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will be:

  • Chartered by the Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT)
  • Fully proficient in programmes including Revit and Autocad.  A Revit proficiency test will be conducted at 2nd interview.  Ability in Sketchup and Photoshop desired.
  • Excellent technical design skills
  • Experience of detailing complex buildings and the ability to produce comprehensive working drawing packages
  • Proven ability of running projects across technical work stages
  • Experience of working on UK developments with good knowledge of the Building Regulations

You must also hold a full UK drivers licence. You will be team focused with a view to contribute to the development of the team and the department.

Key Duties

  • Preparing; presenting; leading the detailed design process and co-ordinating, integrating and managing detailed design and production information, the design team and associated professional consultants
  • Producing, analysing and advising upon specification, materials selection and detailed design solutions in relation to performance and production criteria
  • Liaising with and producing documentation for statutory approval authorities
  • Managing health and safety and carrying out design stage reviews in relation to designers and principal designers
  • Providing professional guidance and decision making to clients, users and design/construction teams

As an Associate Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you will be the Technical Lead for the Mechanical Engineering team and will be responsible for mentoring junior members of staff across the practice. You will need strong leadership qualities and you must be able to manage resources, potentially across a multi-disciplinary team, in order to meet numerous project deadlines.

You will work closely with Partners, Directors, and other members of the Senior Management Team to identify and develop marketing opportunities and contribute to business growth and development.

 

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will need to be degree qualified and considered an expert in their field. You must be a chartered member of CIBSE or the IMechE and will need to have at least 5 years post qualified experience. You must also hold a full UK drivers licence.

You must be a dedicated, hardworking and self-motivated individual with a proactive approach to work and business development. You must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills; a high degree of experience in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, IES and Hevacomp; and ideally have experience in using Revit.

Building Surveying Apprentice

Are you about to complete your GCSEs or A-levels and are considering a path as a Building Surveyor?

Do you want join an award winning multidisciplinary consultancy practice offering an incredible training package?

We are a growing multi-discipline practice with 4 offices across the South of England.  Due to our continued success we are looking to appoint an Apprentice Building Surveyor for our Plymouth Office.  The successful individual will be enrolled onto a RICS Accredited training scheme where after 2.5 years they will achieve an Advanced diploma and become a Building Surveying Technician and gain Associate status with RICS.   Upon successful completion of the course the individual will have a direct route to the Level 6 surveying degree to gain their chartership if they so wish.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have gained, or be on track to achieve, at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 (C) or above including in Maths & English. The successful candidate should also have a good understanding of what building surveying is, and is fully aware of the career path ahead.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is determined and passionate about becoming a Building Surveyor.

All applicants must also have the desire to gain a full drivers licence upon eligibility.

Key Duties

  • Generally working with the team and assisting staff both in the office and at site visits
  • Collect information from inspections or visits to buildings, land and construction sites
  • Take appropriate measurements of buildings, land or plans
  • Meet with other professionals, clients, customers and others to obtain and provide information relating to land, property or construction
  • Collect and record data relating to land, buildings or construction for technical use
  • Manage work tasks relating to the area of practice
  • Undertake costings and/or measurements and/or valuations using data collected from research
  • Ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
