PARTNERS TEAM
Giles Blight
BA(Hons) MArch RIBA
Giles is an award winning Chartered Architect with over 18 years experience with a wide range of key skills and knowledge across a broad spectrum of sectors. He joined the practice in 2013 from a major international multi-disciplinary London based company, and was elevated to Partner in 2017. His experience ranges from mixed use commercial and residential regeneration projects, exemplar research facilities, to managing frameworks with multiple estates, projects, tight budgets and timescales. By developing the ethereal, functional and financial briefs he ensures that the best product is delivered for the client and its stakeholders, ensuring places and spaces are designed for the people that intend to use them with great client satisfaction and recognition.

Steve Demuth
BSc(Hons) DipSurvPract MRICS
Steve joined the practice in 2002 and studied part-time leading to graduation with a 1st class honours degree. He leads our Plymouth and Exeter Building Surveying/Project Management teams along with a number of multi-disciplinary appointments for Local Authorities, Academies, Social Housing providers and Developers. His specialisms include education, social/private housing sector and residential/commercial developments; working on projects which range from small refurbishments to multi-million pound regeneration schemes. In addition to project work Steve also works closely with the Building Surveying team to deliver acquisition/condition surveys, schedules of conditions/dilapidations, fire safety inspections, feasibility studies, Party Wall duties and development consultancy services.

Mike Fisher
BA(Hons)DipArch RIBA
Mike is a highly experienced Chartered Architect who joined the Practice in 2000 and became a Partner in 2013 after successfully growing the architectural teams nationally. Mike has responsibility for the Built Environment departments across the Practice. A broad background initially working for a Design and Build contractor and then a series of architectural practices in the Midlands, London and the South West. Mike manages a broad range of clients across public and private sectors as well as a number of significant Frameworks. With a passion for design, creativity, technology and innovation, Mike places people at the heart of the process.

Philip Schlussas
BSc(Hons) MRICS
Philip is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years experience of major projects across a wide range of industry sectors. Philip joined Bailey Partnership in 2007 and became a partner in 2015, becoming the partner responsible for the delivery of Quantity Surveying services. He is equally adept at generating best value for clients on smaller refurbishments as well as multi-million pound new build projects. His early career was spent in private practice in London, undertaking the full range of pre and post contract quantity surveying duties. Overall project experience ranges across commercial offices, retail, leisure, residential, airport schemes and education work. Philip is the partner responsible for the Exeter office, Professional Practice, Finance and QS resource allocation across the practice.

Philip Stuart-Harris
BSc(Hons) MRICS
Philip is a Project Manager and Chartered Building Surveyor with over 25 years experience. He has successfully delivered a wide range of capital projects including new-build and refurbishment schemes and overseen programmes of major development, repair and maintenance work. He also provides strategic property advice to a range of commercial and public sector clients on matters including dilapidations, Party Walls and pre-acquisition / due diligence surveys. A Partner since 2006, Philip leads our Bristol office and is responsible for a number of key client frameworks including the Ministry of Justice, a number of Universities and Local Authorities. He is also the Partner responsible for our Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

Simon Zawada
BSc MRICS Cert Man
Simon is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 20 years experience gained in both the public and commercial sectors. He joined the practice in 2002 from a major international multi-disciplinary company to build on the success and growth of the practice in South East England. His experience ranges from key University and Education clients through to highly specialist Government Agencies such as the Ministry of Defence. He manages a diverse number of portfolio accounts from multi-discipline frameworks to inner London estate regeneration schemes. Simon is the Partner responsible for the Sevenoaks office, development and management of Human Resources, Training, and Health and Safety across the entire practice.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Stuart Collingwood
DipSurv MRICS - Director, Project Management and Building Surveying
Stuart is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Project Manager with extensive experience in the public, commercial and private sectors. He joined the practice in 2006 and has experience with key Universities and Education clients through to highly specialist Government Agencies such as the Ministry of Justice. He manages a diverse number of portfolio accounts from multi-discipline frameworks within Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London. Stuart is a Director based at the Sevenoaks Office and manages a team of Building Surveyors and Project Managers.

Ben Venner
BEng(Hons) CEng MCIBSE - Director, Building Services Engineering
Ben is an experienced Chartered Building Services Engineer with a background rooted in a wide range of sectors including nuclear and defense, education, healthcare, industrial and commercial. Ben joined Bailey Partnership in 2017 as Director of the Building Services Engineering team having successfully establishing and running a Building Services Consultancy for the previous 4 years. Ben works across all four offices, supporting the Partners in business growth and development.

Russ Bateman
MIET - Director, Building Services Engineering
Russ is a Building Services Engineer with expertise in design, management, consultancy and project supervision. He leads our London based Building Services team with work for government bodies, local authorities, Universities and private sector clients.

Bernie Bonfiglio
MEng CEng MICE MIStructE - Director
Bernie Bonfiglio joined the Bailey Partnership in November 2019. Bernie brings with him a wealth of experience in structural and civil engineering projects. Bernie’s skills and experience areas have been built upon through a range of employment settings in the UK and overseas which include; structural inspections and assessments, structural and civil engineering design, project management, contract administration and site supervision.

Mike Hancock
Eng Tech MICE TIStructE CMaPS - Director
Mike's experience in project management and design and detailing of building and civil engineering projects is well renowned. He is an experienced Principal Designer and is a Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety sitting on the Regional Committee. He is responsible for the sucessful delivery of civil engineering projects, contract administration and management of the reconstruction of fire-damaged listed buildings and designs. He leads our Civil Engineering and Renewables team working on highway and drainage infrastructure, marine, wind farm and STOR projects.

Tim Brown
BSc(Hons) MRICS CMaPS - Director Building Surveying
Tim originally joined the Practice in 2001, and after a short period away, he rejoined in 2018 to lead the Building Surveying Team in Plymouth. He has worked across a diverse section of the industry including commercial, healthcare and defence in addition to carrying out various professional services, forging many lasting relationships along the way. Tim is particularly passionate about Construction Health & Safety, along with mentoring and supporting staff through the APC process. Tim has been actively involved with Plymouth University, encouraging the development of emerging talent for a number of years.

Lee Carroll
BSc(Hons) MRICS - Director, Project Manager
An MRICS professional since 2009, Lee is experienced in undertaking many Building Surveying roles including Project Manager, Contract Administrator, Employers Agent and Party Wall Surveyor. Before joining Bailey Partnership, Lee gained extensive experience of the industrial and office sector, undertaking surveys, dilapidations, defect diagnosis and rectification, feasibilities and implementing planned maintenance schedules and wide-ranging projects.

Michael Smith
BA(Hons) DipArch RIBA - Director, Architect & Practice BIM Manager
Joining Bailey Partnership in 2018, Mike has a strong technical background and a wealth of knowledge in Building Information Modelling. Mike is driving forward BIM within the Partnership, helping to deliver coordinated projects and looking at ways to utilise new technology to enhance delivery and efficiency. Alongside researching innovative technologies, Mike also undertakes regular lectures at Universities and Colleges to promote the benefits of 3D modelling and BIM.

Paul Chapple
MCIAT C.Build E MCABE IMaPS - Senior Associate, Chartered Architectural Technologist
A Chartered Architectural Technologist, Paul leads the technical team with his broad project experience and knowledge. As an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety Paul is responsible for communicating legislation and coordinating with all our CDM professionals. Paul is also the Regional Councillor and a Registered Supervisor with CIAT.

Joseph Wiltshire
BSc(Hons) MRICS IMaPS - Senior Associate Building Surveyor
Joe is a Chartered Building Surveyor and leads our Building Surveying team in the Bristol office. Joe has a wealth of experience working for public sector, higher education and government clients as lead consultant on project works of up to £5 million. In addition, Joe is also an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety (APS) and has developed good experience acting as Principal Designer as a stand alone role as well as part of the lead consultant role.

Stephen Clark
BA(Hons) MCIAT - Associate, Chartered Architectural Technologist
Stephen has worked on a variety of projects with Bailey Partnership since joining in 2001. His particular experience is in the detailed design of schools, residential, leisure, social and commercial housing, and student accommodation.

Helen Demuth
BA(Hons) MCSD - Associate Interior Designer
Helen is a key member of our design team, acting as lead interior designer in most projects and is ultimately responsible for co-ordination of the design. Her creative eye starts from initial concept stage through to the fit out- using her talented approach to create functional and eye-catching spaces in all sectors.

Matthew Foster
BSc(Hons) MRICS - Associate, Building Surveyor
Matthew joined the practice in 2006 and has experience across a range of sectors including education, leisure, civic buildings, housing and historic building conservation. As a Chartered Building Surveyor he has delivered numerous projects to refurbish and remodel existing buildings, alongside professional work such as condition surveys and party wall matters. In recent years Matthew has project managed a series of school expansion schemes, engaging with clients and working with multi-disciplinary teams to guide these projects from feasibility stage right through to completion on site.

Rory Hill
BSc(Hons) MRICS - Senior Associate, Building Surveyor
Rory manages the Building Surveying team in Exeter and following joining us in early 2016, has continued to build upon his wide ranging experience. Rory has a strong background in both traditional building surveying and project management and his experience includes anything from traditional defect diagnosis through to the project management of large commercial new developments.

Ian Newcombe
MCIAT - Senior Associate, Chartered Architectural Technologist
With experience both in the UK and overseas, Ian joined the Partnership in 1999 and leads teams producing work from feasibility to construction. Ian is capable and versatile individual with a broad skill-set and wealth of experience across multiple sectors.

Ryan Parker
BSc(Hons) MCIAT - Senior Associate, Chartered Architectural Technologist
A Chartered Architectural Technologist, Ryan heads up the architectural team in Bristol and acts as Lead Designer, Architectural Technologist, Contract Administrator and Project Manager for a number of partnering and Framework commissions. Ryan regularly works alongside our other disciplines including Building Surveyors and Project Managers providing added value to the design process for a variety of projects.

Guy Sheer-Bolt
BSc(Hons) DipSurvPract MRICS - Associate Quantity Surveyor
Guy has a proven track record of delivering best value on projects across a variety of sectors ranging in a values from £50k to £80M. His early career was spent in private practice undertaking a full range of Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration, Employers Agent, Project Management and Technical Advisor duties. Joining the Partnership in 2005, Guy's recent project experience includes large scale education Frameworks, commercial/industrial, retail, leisure, rail, residential and healthcare works.

David Vickerstaff
BA(Hons) DipArch RIBA - Senior Associate Architect
An experienced Architect, having completed award winning projects within education, healthcare and housing who utilises his vast experience and abilities to engage with his clients and stakeholders to establish and identify design solutions. This includes leading large teams and multi project frameworks through to delivering individual bespoke developments, all with a strong client focussed approach. Dave is also a member of the South West Design Review Panel where he draws on his experience to provide impartial, expert design reviews for major planning applications of significance to local authorities.

Shaun Wells-Burr
MRICS BSc(Hons) - Associate Quantity Surveyor
A Chartered Quantity Surveyor who manages our Bristol and Exeter Quantity Surveying teams since progressing through the Practice from joining as an apprentice. Shaun has strong experience in Development Management and is heavily involved in development appraisals and fund monitoring. He predominately acts as Contract Administrator, Cost Consultant, Project Manager and Monitoring Surveyor for a number of key private and public sector clients.

Yasmin Bourroumane
BSc(Hons) Assoc. CIPD Associate Human Resources Manager
Yasmin is our in house Human Resources manager who helps to look after the staff needs of the Practice. The cornerstone of her approach is a focus on wellbeing and the support to allow personal progression and development of every member of the team. Yasmin is CIPD qualified and is also the Regional Branch Secretary for the Devon & Cornwall CIPD Committee.
