The built heritage sector is unique and requires specialist knowledge and experience to meet the exacting demands of preserving buildings and structure for the future. Bailey Partnership’s Historic Building Consultancy was established in 1995 with a core of professionals experienced in the care, repair and adaptation of historic buildings. Our Historic Building Consultancy has the expertise to provide a wide range of services to meet the specific needs of this sector.

Our experience has embraced works to, or within, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, Listed Buildings, and Conservation Areas. This has included royal palaces, castles, forts, dockyards, archaeological sites and standing ruins, ecclesiastical buildings and sites, prisons, museums, town halls and other corporate buildings, farms and historic houses.

Clients have included English Heritage, Historic Royal Palaces, Building Preservation and charitable trusts plus numerous public authorities as well as the private sector. Services provided cover condition surveys, programmed and costed repair and maintenance plans, defects analysis, specifications for repairs and designs for adaption, applications for grant aid and obtaining Scheduled Ancient Monument, Listed Building and Conservation Area Consent, supervision of building contracts and the project management of large or complex projects.

Our experience and expertise allows us to find the most appropriate solutions working with English Heritage and Conservation Officers to ensure effective problem solving and the long term preservation of the built heritage.
