An example of successful urban regeneration, this 8 storey city centre office block has been converted and transformed into 105 luxury apartments. The name of this landmark development, 51 02, is the latitude and longitude of Bristol.
Former headquarters of the defunct Avon County Council, the building quickly became derelict following the abolition of Avon and lay empty for some time.
The regeneration scheme included new external insulated render, new windows and complete strip out and re-fit internally. Each apartment was specified to a high standard including timber floors. A basement car park was retained. The project was divided into packages which were let individually utilising a construction management form of contract.
The project successfully addressed the challenges resulting from the building bridging a dual carriageway on one of the main roundabouts, St James Barton, on the Bristol inner ring road. Bailey Partnership provided a local post-contract service from our Bristol office.
