Bailey Partnership Secure University of Bath Consultants Frameworks
Bailey Partnership is delighted to have been appointed to two separate four year frameworks with the University of Bath for Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying services.
Frequently ranked as one of the best UK Universities, Bath has an internationally respected research portfolio of over £100M and is home to nearly 14,000 students and 2,600 staff from around the world. First class sporting facilities host numerous international level competitors including the GB Modern Pentathlon team and Olympic bob skeleton gold medallist Amy Williams. Bath has been selected as a preparation campus for the 2012 Paralympics GB Team.
Appointment to each of the frameworks followed an exhaustive selection process from an initial OJEU notice, submission of a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire leading to selection to a short-list for tender via an online portal. Eight firms were invited to tender each discipline, assessed at 50% cost and 50% technical quality. Bailey Partnership were successful in both, being appointed as one of three Building Surveyors and one of four Quantity Surveyors.
The 200 acre campus contains a wide range of building types and uses, with a large proportion being the central teaching and administrative facilities built in the 1960’s / 70’s. These are regularly enhanced by numerous extensions and new-build schemes including the state-of-the-art £35m Sports Training Village initially opened in 2003/4 and still being further enhanced this year; a 355 room student accommodation complex completed in October 2008 and a new £5.5M student centre opened in October 2010.
Planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes are constantly ongoing, supplemented by major capital projects. Improving environmental performance is a key goal of the Estates team and all new projects are required to achieve BREEAM “Excellent” rating, reducing energy consumption and/or utilizing sustainable energy generation technology wherever viable to do so.
